Access To Aesthetics Programme
The beauty therapy industry is changing rapidly. The development of specialist areas of practice, such as in laser and Light therapies, skin rejuvenation procedures, body contouring and advanced aesthetic treatments, has resulted in the evolution of a separate sector within the industry – that of Aesthetic Practice and the Medispa.
With this industry growth has come a need for education and training development, both for those already working in the sector or for individuals who may wish to enter the sector from a non-traditional beauty therapy or medical background.
As a result of a report published by Health Education England in January 2016, the government commissioned the formation of the Joint Council of Cosmetic Practitioners to develop new qualification standards from Levels 4 - 7 for all practitioners. The stipulation was that these qualifications were to include broad access routes of entry into the profession.
The JCCP was also tasked with the establishment of a Practitioner Register which, while currently voluntary, marks the move towards possible mandatory regulation in the future. As a result many insurance companies are already increasing their criteria for cover with the requirement for these higher level qualifications.
In compliance with the JCCP standards, and in response to demand from individuals entering the profession or requiring qualification upgrades, the Education Team at Sally Durant are pleased to bring you a portfolio of courses to address this need.
