This is an advanced and extensive study of both the chronological and premature skin ageing processes. We examine the anatomy and physiology of ageing, the extrinsic and intrinsic influential factors on this process and how the body’s natural inflammatory, immunological and healing mechanisms serve to regenerate and remodel skin tissue. Recognition of the visual changes in the skin tissue is covered in full and we examine the clinical treatment approaches used in the modern day aesthetic clinic.
