Awarding Body Partnerships
In March 2016, Sally Durant and CIBTAC founded a partnership with the development of Sally's first to market Level 4 qualifications in aesthetic practice. Sally at that time required an awarding body through whom she could gain accreditation of her courses on the National Curriculum Framework (QCF). There was no exclusivity and subsequently CIBTAC over the years approve other training providers to deliver their own versions of the qualifications. Indeed other awarding bodies have their own qualifications in the sector too. None of which are connected to us and most certainly are not endorsed in anyway by us. Our standards are exacting (for which we are very proud) and only by studying directly with us can you proudly say you undertook a Sally Durant course - those that know know the true meaning and value of this!
In June 2019, Skin Group International Ltd (SGI) acquired the Sally Durant Brand Name and Intellectual Property, and began (with Sally's input) to refresh and update all of Sally's courses. The research and development that followed identified gaps in the ever emerging aesthetic sector, and in our opinion, the need for a clearly defined progression pathway/route to further enhance Sally's legacy. We wanted exclusivity, and we also wanted to look at alternative ways to end assess, as for some the pressure of a formal end examination can be immense, to the point that some individuals do not always cope well in those situations, and indeed may not perform at their best. We felt it was important to address this by offering differing end assessement choices, hence our search for another awarding body to facilitate our vision began.
In July 2021, Skin College (a division of SGI) founded a unique and progressive partnership with Gatehouse Awards with the aim of driving forward standards of aesthetic education and training. SGI required a forward thinking awarding body that recognised and embraced the quality and depth of study required to attain a qualification with us. We required exclusivity so that only our content was studied (underpinned by our intellectual property as the owners of the original Sally Durant materials), using our tried and tested methods, delivered soley by educators trained by Sally Durant, licensed by us to deliver our exclusive content.

They did not acquire the company, any debt, or any liability. SGI have continued to innovate and develop in the field of Aesthetics and are proud of the depth and breadth of educational materials/resources which is the legacy that Sally Durant worked so passionately to create. |
