Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Skin Studies & Aesthetic Practice

The ultimate qualification for aesthetic practitioners
This diploma course is the most comprehensive accredited qualification available to the medispa Sector. It will provide you with an extensive knowledge and understanding of the skin, its assessment and the remedial aesthetic practices used in the industry to develop and maintain skin health.   We have packed in a unique depth of study into this course to give you the very best foundation for your career in aesthetic practice.  

Course format 

This course is made up of seven units of study: 

Unit 1 -  Core Knowledge for Aesthetic Practice

Module 4 - Infection Control in the Medical Aesthetic Clinic

Module 8 - Elementary Anatomy & Physiology for the Facial Aesthetic Practitioner 

Unit 2 -  Advanced Skin Science

Module 3 - The Extra Cellular Matrix of the Dermis
Module 4 - The Appendages, Specialist Histology & Secretions of the Skin.

Module 1 –  Essential Dermatology for the Practice of Blemish Removal
Module 2 – Blemish Removal by Advanced Electrology - Thermo-coagulation
Module 3 –  Blemish Removal by Cryotherapy
Module 4 -  Client Selection, Treatment Protocols & Techniques
 
Unit 7 - The Principles & Practices of the Medispa Sector

This unit of study is included as standard within of the Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Skin Studies and Aesthetic Practice ( optional for all other courses). It is made up of a series of one-day short courses, seminars and workshops to provide you with the opportunity to learn from some of the most prominent practitioners in the aesthetic industry.  It is designed to enable you to gain add
itional knowledge and insight into a wide range of subject areas not included in your level 4 course but which are of interest to your future career or business progression.

Course Delivery
- Audio/visual e-learning,  33 modules + 6 days practical tuition 

Course Resources - Digital portfolios and e-learning portal

Course Assessment - Online multiple choice questions, written assessment booklets, assignment, case studies, mock examinations and final CIBTAC theory and practical examinations.

Duration -   9 - 12  months based on part-time study  (10 - 12 hours per week)

Certification - ​The OFQUAL accredited CIBTAC | SALLY DURANT Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Skin Studies and Aesthetic Practice - graded at pass, merit or distinction

Course entry requirements :
Fluency in English plus one of the following: 
  • Medical Qualification
  • Level 3 Beauty Therapy
  • Level 2 Beauty Therapy / Facial Skin Care + the CIBTAC | SALLY DURANT Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Skin Studies and The Priciples of Aeshtetic Practice  ​​
  • Completion of our full Access to Aesthetics Pathway

Who is this course for?

  • Medical Aesthetic Practitioners looking to extend their practice into advanced skin health care
  • Beauty therapists qualified to Level 3 or above who are working, or wanting to work, in the medispa environment
  • Level 2 qualified beauty therapists, who have completed our Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Skin Studies and The Principles of Aesthetic Practice
  • Those who do not have a beauty therapy qualification but who have completed our full Access to Aesthetics Pathway

What makes this course different?

This course is alligned to the JCCP Qualification Framework and meets the procedural protocols of the CPSA. ​This course provides you with a broad and versatile skill set in medispa practices inline with new UK government  requirements and the enhancement of your business or career development.  The inclusion of non-surgical blemish removal to the essential units of qualification for HEE compliance will give you an additional specialism in a widely demanded, but under provided, remedial aesthetic treatment.
