Access To Aesthetics 

​Our foundation courses are comprised of a series of small to medium qualifications which provide a solid basis on which a career as a specialist in skin health management and remedial skin treatment can be based.   Whether you are qualified beauty therapist or medical aesthetic practitioner, or indeed from a non therapy background,  these courses provide essential knowledge and understanding on which you can build an advanced level of understanding and skill in order to progress within the aesthetics sector .  Thus, if you have a Level 2 beauty qualification or are new to the profession, the successful completion of these courses provides an Ofqual regulated accredited access route to our practical skills qualifications in clinical aesthetic treatment of the skin.

 These courses are therefore ideal for:
  • All aesthetic practitioners and beauty professionals either from a medical or therapy background
  • Level 2 qualified therapists
  • Dental nurses
  • Those from a related but non-traditional therapy background requiring industry access. Eligibility will be assessed on an individual basis according to pre-requisite levels of education and APEL (Accrediation of Prior Experience & Learning) / RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
  • Non-practitioner Managers requiring a greater understanding of the skin
  • Retail skincare consultants who require a better understanding of professional skin analysis and treatment.

Level 2 Award in Facial Skin Care/CPD Certificate in Essential Facial Skills  

If you do not have any qualifications or experience of working in beauty therapy then you will need to learn manual facial techniques.  The Level 2 Award in Facial Skin Care is required for anyone entering the skin care industry for the first time
​while our CPD course will equip those with a medical qualfication with the essential manual skills required to provide skin treatments with the professional dexterity needed for accurate and safe facial procedures. 

Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Skin Studies & Principles of Aesthetic Practice  

This course is made up of all three of our foundation awards in Core Knowledge, Advanced Skin Science and Skin Health Assessment, as detailed below, providing you with the most comprehensive grounding for a career in the aesthetics industry.  

As a medical practitioner or qualified beauty therapist it will extend your knowledge and understanding to a superior level while providing an access qualification for those new to aesthetic therapy.

Those with no prior exepreice in the sector will also need to complete either the Level 2 Award in Facial Skin Care or the Sally Durant CPD Certificate in Essential Facial Skills.

Level 4 Award in Core Knowledge for Aesthetic Practice

​The Level 4 Award in Core Knowledge for Aesthetic Practice is a mandatory unit of study for all aesthetic practitioners and skin care clinicians working within the sector.  It follows the curriculum set down by the HEE qualification framework unit and provides a solid foundation for clinical governance and best practice according to the required industry standards.  It also gives insight into the business end of establishing and running an aesthetic clinic.

Level 4 Award in Advanced Skin Science  

Award In Advanced Skin ScienceIf you are working, or looking to work, within aesthetic skin care this course is a fundamental ‘must have’ for any practitioner. A superior understanding of how the skin is structured, how it functions and how it dysfunctions is vital if you are to be able to provide well informed, safe  and effective in remedial treatment of the skin. As the first qualification of its kind to be available specifically for the skin care clinician, this learning programme extends your knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the skin considerably further than standard training and in unprecedented depth. It will provide you with a solid basis for further study and a better understanding of dermatological issues to enable you to become a true specialist in skin health management.

 Level 4 Award Skin Health Assessment for Aesthetic Practice 

Accurate and in-depth skin analysis is naturally key to safe and successful treatment planning. Having previously learned the primary skin types and some elements of secondary skin condition,  this course will now take you forward to look at more advanced conditions of the skin and elements of cosmetic dermatology.  However visual observation is not enough and we also teach you advanced skills in the analysis of the client’s lifestyle, environment, diet and general health to diagnose skin health and disorientation through a ‘whole body’ approach.  Through our methodology you will be able to effectively plan comprehensive, long term skin health programmes for your clients.

Once you have completed our foundation courses you can extend your clinical qualfications to the next level by completing your Level 4 training in Chemical Skin Peeling, Microneedling and Non-Surgical Blemish Removal by Themolysis and Cryotherapy.
